Introduction SBM(G) Phase ll has been uniquely designed to leverage the capacity of individuals and communities in rural India to create a people’s movement to ensure that the ODF status od rural areas is sustained, people continue to practice safe and hygienic behaviour and that all villages have solid and liquid waste management arrangements. SBM(G) Phase ll is being implemented from 2020-21 to 2024-25 in mission mode with a total estimated outlay of Rs.1,40,881 crores. This will be novel model of convergence between verticals of financing and various schemes of Central and State governments to saturate the sanitation facilities for achieving the ODF Plus Villages Objectives The key objectives of SBM(G) Phase ll is to sustain the ODF status of villages and to improve the level of cleanliness in rural areas through solid and liquid waste management activities, making village ODF Plus. This Includes 1. ODF-Sustainability: That all households in a village, as well as the Primary School, Panchayat Ghar and Anganwadi Central, have access to a toilet. 2. Solid Waste Management: Effective management of solid waste by at least 80% of households and all public places 3. Liquid Waste Management: Effective management of Liquide waste by at least 80% of households and all public places 4. Visual Cleanliness: A village will be classified as visually clean if 80% of households and all public places are observed to have minimal litter and minimal stagnant water.
